Let’s Play: VTM – Bloodlines Episode 35

Andrei might have a specific taunt for Tremere because of the Tzimisce history with the Tremere – it was Tzimisce blood that the Tremere used to make themselves vampires.  The Tzimisce have special animosity for the Tremere.

I said a lot of the interesting things on camera this time.  That leaves me with less stuff to say here.  The parts that Exetera spoilered out are things that will come up when we start talking end game; when we get to assaulting the Sabbat, we’ll get back to it.  One minor point I will make is one that we learned in the tutorial: the Sabbat mass-produces vampires, the so-called “shovel-heads”, and the leaders view their underlings as highly expendable – there’s nothing special about them, and they can just make more.

I guess I can point out that Andrei has an endless supply of his szlachta.  What he’s doing when he pops up from the pool of blood is summoning another szlachta to try to kill you.  You do have to concentrate on hurting Andrei as much as possible here, because you cannot just wait around killing his minions until he runs out.

Maybe this thread can be a body for everyone to tell me what a horrible person I am for hating Final Fantasy 7.  Because I do.  It is the worst game in the entire series (and I am including Final Fantasy 14.)

  1. No, I’m going to hijack the FF thread by repeating my youtube comment: My favourite part was when Exetera blanked out actual discussion just to pander to a rampant anti-spoiler obsession, thereby leaving the video completely dead, not even letting a character’s dialogue play out in the interim.

  2. To be fair, FF7 did bring a lot of new ideas into the RPG genre (…for better or for worse). It’s the insane amount of attention that it’d gotten that gets a lot of people riled up. I say this as a person who recently replayed it on the PC, take from that what you will.

      • It is possible that other JRPGs had broken some of the same ground, but to me Final Fantasy 7 was mind-blowing. I made the mistake of going Genesis/Megadrive rather than Super NES/Famicom, so I’d only had any real time with Dragon Warrior and FF1. I did play the hell out of Shadowrun for genesis, but that was an action RPG and not really the same thing.

There were so many places that I loved to spend time in – all the casino games were fun. The stories of the game were entrancing, and I could jam to the Turks’ theme all day if given the chance.

I don’t know if I could muster the patience to play that game these days, but as a young man who spent his first big tax return on a playstation, I found myself filling the 99 hours of playtime counter in a very short time.
