I was really frustrated with Exetera (or at least the patch he plays with) in this episode, and I may have taken it out on Brandon, in case you hadn’t noticed.
The Blood Doll in the Asylum is supposed to be your tutorial on Blood Dolls, and should only require a seduction of 1 to engage (any character other than a Nosferatu has a 1 automatically.) It’s possible that Exetera messed it up by charging ahead and not picking the right first option (confidence is, in fact, sexy, so the “like what you see; I know I do” option is a pretty strong opener despite claims to the contrary), but it’s more likely that the mod Exetera runs changed this as well, partitioning off the Blood Dolls for more seductive characters to create a better “replay value”.
I seriously hate the guy that makes the “unofficial patch” for this game. He’s a real douchebag that thinks he knows better how to design the game, and a lot of his patch versions have been fixes for bugs he himself created through his many changes and additions.
There does exist another patch, for those that cannot get the vanilla game to run smoothly, but it is created by someone (in)famous for making nude models for various games, and thus doesn’t get a lot of credit (or exposure). The patch itself contains no (added) nudity, but is only available through the creator’s NSFW website (which I am not linking here).
Lore commentary: Lilith, Adam’s Apocryphal first wife, plays a fairly major role in VTM’s backstory. After Caine was cursed by God, he encountered Lilith, who took him in. Lilith had been likewise cursed by God (to never know love or trust), and had been forced to learn to survive alone. Doing so taught her many powers, which she then taught to Caine; these powers became the foundation of the vampiric Disciplines.
God’s Curse forced Caine and Lilith to part acrimoniously, and Lilith in fact plays a major role in one of the suggested Gehenna scenarios.
“(in)famous for making nude models for various games, and thus doesn’t get a lot of credit (or **exposure**)”
The punster in me doubts that that was unintentional.
*Drink for vanilla game, drink for patch, drink for [Krellen's] pun*
